Yetneh — Terms of Service

Last updated: September 2026

1. Acceptance

By creating an account, tapping “continue”, or using Yetneh, you agree to these Terms. Your acceptance is given electronically and forms a legally binding agreement under the Electronic Transactions Proclamation (No. 1205/2020). If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Who we are and what we do

Yetneh is a technology platform that connects you with independent service providers — drivers, couriers, restaurants, sellers and other businesses. We help you request rides, send packages, order food, buy items in the marketplace, send gifts, and use GPS tracking. We are an intermediary: the providers are independent third parties, not our employees or agents, and they are responsible for the goods and services they offer.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (the age of majority in Ethiopia) and able to enter a binding contract. If you use the app on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to do so.

4. Your account

Give accurate information and keep it up to date. Keep your phone, PIN and login details secure — you are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.

5. Prices, fees and payments

All prices and fees are shown in Ethiopian Birr (ETB) before you confirm. Depending on the service you may pay on delivery, from your in-app wallet, or via a service/connection fee, delivery fee, or the monthly tracking recording fee. Providers and sellers set the price of their own goods and services. Applicable taxes (including VAT where it applies) are included or shown. You are entitled to a record of your transactions.

6. Location tracking, privacy and your data

We collect only the data needed to run the service — including your location, device details, contacts you add to your circle, wallet activity and ratings. GPS tracking is OFF by default and is turned on only with your clear, separate consent; you can switch “Track me” off at any time. Location is shared only with the people and providers you choose (for example a courier fulfilling your delivery, or a circle member you allow). You must not use tracking to monitor anyone without their consent. Under the Personal Data Protection Proclamation (No. 1321/2024) you may access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and withdraw consent at any time. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Acceptable use

Use Yetneh lawfully and respectfully. Do not list or trade illegal or prohibited goods, commit fraud, harass others, misuse tracking to stalk or endanger anyone, or attempt to disrupt, copy or circumvent the platform.

8. Content and intellectual property

The Yetneh app, name and design belong to us. You keep ownership of what you post (listings, photos, reviews) but grant us a licence to display and operate it within the service. Do not post content you do not have the right to share.

9. Service “as is” and safety

The service is provided “as is”. We work to keep it accurate and available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service, the quality or conduct of independent providers, or that maps and GPS positions are always exact. Any SOS or safety feature is assistance only — it is not a substitute for emergency services.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Yetneh is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the acts of independent providers, sellers or other users. Nothing here limits the rights you have under Ethiopian consumer-protection law, which cannot be waived.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, is used for fraud or unlawful activity, or has unpaid fees. You may stop using the service at any time.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms and will make the new version available in the app and on this page. Continuing to use Yetneh after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. We will try to resolve any dispute with you amicably first; if we cannot, the competent courts of Addis Ababa will have jurisdiction.

14. Contact

Questions, complaints or data requests: reach us through the support option in the app or at hello@yetneh.com. We aim to respond promptly and to handle complaints fairly.

15. SMS Terms

Program name: Yetneh sign-in codes. Brand: Yetneh.

What we send. Yetneh sends text messages (SMS) for one purpose: a one-time code so you can sign in to the Yetneh app. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

How you opt in. You consent by entering your mobile number on the Yetneh app's sign-in screen, ticking the consent box, and tapping “Send code”. Nothing is sent until you do this.

Message frequency. One message per sign-in request. You only receive a message when you ask for a code.

Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier's standard message and data rates apply to every text you receive from us. Yetneh does not charge for SMS.

Help. Reply HELP to any message for help, or contact hello@yetneh.com.

Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from Yetneh. Because signing in requires a one-time code by SMS, opting out means you will not be able to sign in until you request a code again, which re-establishes your consent.

Carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your data. Your phone number and SMS opt-in status are used only to deliver these codes and to run your account. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy.

These Terms are a good-faith summary in plain language and are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Where a mandatory consumer-protection or data-protection right applies, that right prevails over anything stated here.
